If headaches are the chief complaint, then some questions will help to determine the likely cause:
- Did you fall?
- Are you dizzy?
- Do you currently experience weakness or numbness?
- Do you have urinary incontinence?
Underlying medical conditions and medications, such as those prescribed for high blood pressure, can also cause headaches.
If all these symptoms (headaches, dizziness and forgetfulness) have occurred together in recent weeks, it is necessary to consult a specialist in neurology or neurosurgery. In this case, a CT (computed tomography) scan will be required.
