LOSS OF MEMORY

Stress is the most common cause of forgetfulness. As people get older, memory problems may also arise. This too requires further investigation.

Older people in particular often have multiple underlying conditions (e.g. diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure) and take a variety of medications, such as opioid-based painkillers or sleeping pills, which can exacerbate memory problems.

WALKING AS THE IDEAL EXERCISE FOR THE MEMORY

Memory problems worsen with a lack of or insufficient exercise. Scientific studies have shown that walking alone can significantly improve memory function.

"Adult neurogenesis" refers to the formation of new nerve cells in adults of all ages through daily walking. Conversely, it has been proven that new nerve cells die if a person does not walk: ‘A rolling stone gathers no moss’ – physically, mentally and emotionally…
